I Have a Secret

Kind of. Not a big secret, but not little either. It's not an intentional devious secret, but I haven't been forthcoming in sharing it with you all yet either.

I know- enough dilly-dallying.

I've been writing another blog. I wanted to make sure this was something I was going to keep up with, and not just a summer "hobby" of sorts. I'm hoping that by telling my oodles of readers here about it, I'll feel more compelled to write more there as well. I've made some wonderful friends there, and found lots of "prayer warriors" to share my journey with.

It's a way for me to share what's going on with me spiritually - my struggles, my prayers, my victories (however big or small they may be). It also reminds me every time I write that "putting on love" is the most important thing I can do.

Stop by if you have a minute, and definitely keep US in your prayers.

Love to all,

Abby

Fully Loaded

This one is a little overdue, but still worth sharing...

My longtime friend Michelle and I were on our way to Girls Night at Nikki's house when we noticed something a little odd on the car beside us.

US: What is that?

We squinted and sped up, squinted and sped up. (I wasn't driving, Mama. I was the papparazzi.) It took us about a minute to figure out what we were looking at and why it wasn't moving.

A: Is that a diaper?

M: Holy Crap! It is!

A: That's nasty! Why isn't it moving?

(Keep in mind the speed limit is 45 mph on South Cobb Drive.)

M: That's because it's fully loaded. With crap.

Both of us: EW!!!!!!

We were baffled.

And disgusted.

Up close and personal.

Sadly, my papparazzi time was short-lived. We turned on Atlanta Road and the Stinky-Diaper-Car kept going.

Aren't you glad I took pictures? :-)

In This House..

  1. Love brings me a cold washcloth when I'm crouched in the bathroom reliving everything I've eaten in the last 24 hours.
  2. Love brings me Key Lime Pie from a fancy-schmancy restaurant because he knows I've had a bad day.
  3. Love doesn't say anything about the fact that I order fries instead of a salad.
  4. Love brings me juice and medicine in the middle of the night because I was too tired to take it when I crawled into bed.
  5. Love makes me feel smart for knowing pop culture answers when we go play Team Trivia - even though he knows them anyway.
  6. Love makes the bed and folds laundry.
  7. Love watches Grey's Anatomy with me, even though medical shows totally gross him out.
  8. Love likes it when I make breakfast for dinner.
  9. Love teaches me something new every day.
  10. Love lets me cry multiple times a day, every day, about the worries I will carry for the next week. He reassures me every time that all of this will be okay.

I love you, Bud.

Happy Monday

I was cooking dinner last night, minding my own business making BBQ with baked beans and sweet potato fries. Bryan came in to check on my progress and pointed out something that led to absolute hilarity in our kitchen for a good ten minutes.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you....

B&M Beans.

'Nuff said.

I can hear it already...

"Good Morning, Miss Boone!"

Sigh.

I've been back at work for a week now, setting up and getting ready for tomorrow. The alarm is set for 5 am, my lunch is packed, my outfit planned and even after 7 years of this, I still get "first day jitters."

Before the school stories begin, I thought I'd catch everybody up on the last few weeks.

My life as SuperNanny began in early July. In all seriousness, these were not kids who needed behavior lessons. They were precious, fun, and absolutely wonderful to be with. I miss them terribly. Please meet...

Liam

and Chloe (or, as Liam says, "Kwoh-lee")

I told you they were cute. I got to visit the Zoo, a golf club, a children's museum, the puppetry arts center and a bunch of other fun places. They were long days (8-6), don't get me wrong - but they were fun.

A few pictures from the Zoo...

Tyger, Tyger anyone?

A little panda action

I have a few more pictures to post but since Blogger is being a royal pain in my "tookus," I'll save them for another day.
